Merzan ĽGranaré, a gifted creative Parisian student, turns down a full art scholarship to the Sorbonne University despite his artistic calling when destiny draws him to French Polynesia – the other side of his world searching for the princess he dreamed of as a youth…but paradise had something else planned!

Merzan, a story about life, love, and purpose at its deepest level, is infused with powerful visual imagery that takes you on an emotional journey through the eyes of a most artistic teenager. Though he is hopelessly unskilled at drawing, Merzan accidentally becomes the world-renowned great master, Artiste de la Photographie.

Geneviève of Arc

Geneviève ĽGranaré, Merzan’s younger redheaded sister, is a college student raised on a farm in Northern France, crowned as a Princess of the peaceful island of Mo’ore’a as a child, gets forced into a country-changing political battle with the French Government that she wants to avoid. However, as significant as this becomes, the story is a setup for world-changing events that take place in script three, “Throne of Destiny Throne of Palms.”

The Gods of the Island sacrifice themselves to give the world a chance to find peace and balance. They call upon the destiny-bound Princess Matahina to bring their plan to life. Understanding that free will and choice are human traits that exist over and above all, it is only by their love that they give hope to bring the gift of the amuhau for all to embrace.

It is found in the fire on the horizon.

Tonight, there will be numerous gifts presented to Her Highness during the ceremony. Geneviève can only think about the gift that she carries in her womb – the gift will be given to all when her daughter teaches the world how to find peace and balance.

Throne of Destiny Throne of Palms

Matahina walks into the thick of the group with her basket of flowers. One family has a small child – a little girl with long hair. Matahina walks up to her and gets down on a knee. Matahina sets the basket down. The group of tourists are hushed, cameras are stilled while watching the imminent interaction.

Matahina takes a beautiful orchid from her basket and starts to place it in the little girl’s hair. She stops placing the flower and asks, “What is your name?”

The little girl, a bit reserved and nervous answers, “I am Emma.”

I will call you Tiare Moana. This means the flower of the ocean.”

The little one tries to repeat the name, “Tiare Moana.”

Matahina asks, “Do you live in Paris Emma?”

Matahina’s sincere kindness disarms the little girl and she feels much more relaxed. She answers, “Oui mademoiselle… I mean yes your Highness.”

The little girl curtsies and bows her head to Matahina. Everyone acknowledges how cute the little one is interacting with Princess Matahina and correcting her inadvertent use of French by repeating her response in English.

Comforting her further Matahina says, “N’ayez aucune inquiétude, Tiare Moana. Je parle le Français de manière fluide. C’est ma deuxième langue.”

TRANSLATION: Have no concern, Emma. I speak French fluidly. It is my second language.

Merzan

Everyone watched. Something was imminent with this exchange between their ferry boat captain and Her Royal Highness.

The Princess placed her hand on his bowed head. He had removed his cap. She spoke, “Captain Bell, you are the greatest sailor I have ever known. It was you that had shown me the ways of the sea more than any other.”

Captain Bell lifted his head enough to look into her eyes and added, “Your Highness, it was you that pushed my boat into impossibly small circles without capsizing her when you were but three years old. I think perhaps it is you that is the greatest sailor I have ever known.”

He lowered his head back into position.

She acknowledged his comment and modified her testimony by saying, “Then perhaps you are the bravest sailor I have ever known.”

Princess Matahina

Geneviève, shocked, says, “There are many things in my life that I have chosen to keep private. Great responsibilities come with the honors that have been bestowed upon me. It’s true. I was crowned the Mohea, the Princess of Mo’ore’a by my Anuja, my sister, Merzan’s wife, the Princess Matahina. Sacred seeds of light were planted in the heavens. These seeds blossom into the stars that will tell a story. I was told they will guide my path. I am trying to find the places where I am to walk. Mostly, I am lost between a world I grew up in and a world I know very little about. Though my destiny has been written in the stars one must learn to read the signs. This is something I know not how to do. I found out that the Gods of the Island of Mo’ore’a had me, no, they used me to speak to my brother, Merzan. I held Merzan’s shoulders and looked into his eyes. I told him, Your Princess is calling for her Prince. Merzan wouldn’t answer me and when I repeated myself, Merzan looked back at me and smiled. At that moment, I knew he would leave France and likely never return. I am silent because it was never about me. Things happened though. Things nobody could ever have imagined. It’s true. I have been blessed. However, these are pleasures that no writer, even of the greatest skill, can speak of with their pen. I feel like I am living in another world, different than what I know here in France. What are these things that happened? Merzan is alone. I am alone. There is another side of destiny’s pleasure that is frightening and very sad. Though I choose to be private, my silence comes not from this. Words have not been born to speak of what I have come to know. My silence is mostly from the fear that I have realizing that I know so little. I came to the Sorbonne to learn to write so I could tell other’s stories, not mine. My story is destined to drift away on the pyre of life into the hands of the Gods. It will be told only in the flames that light the horizon of a setting sun and then, will be lost in the night. Lost forever into man’s sea of time.”

Geneviève of Arc

Geneviève becomes dismissive and has lost any interest in continuing the conversation with Henri. She closes with, “Perhaps I shall thank you for returning my books and bid you goodbye.”

Geneviève opens the door. “And I do hope you were able to satisfy yourself and see that my belongings contained no additional contraband that might embarrass your Board of… your Board of controlling bast….”

Juliette protectively interrupting, “Geneviève! I believe Monsieur Bouchard understands your point. I think that is enough. Wouldn’t you agree, sir?”

Geneviève is standing at the door, ready to close it on Henri.

Henri, in an effort to save face, asks, “One more thing, G.L. Is it true that you are related to the respected artiste, Merzan?”

Geneviève’s eyes open wide from the shock of this extremely private disclosure. Her friends all turn to look at her. Their mouths drop open.

Geneviève tries to push the door shut completely, but first, Henri adds in a humble manner, “Are you truly a Princess of the Island of Mo’ore’a in French Polynesia? “

Geneviève forces the door shut without answering. She stands facing the closed door for the longest time. Silence sends an ear-shattering no-sound in the room. Slowly, she turns around, now standing with her back to the closed door, and looks at her friends. Their jaws have dropped even more.

Geneviève of Arc

Geneviève explains, “She is not only Her. She is many. The world will know our Daughter of the Island. She will bring light where there is darkness.”

Merzan adds humorously, “This would be very difficult for Papa to understand.”

Geneviève gets a solemn look on her face, “No Merzan, Papa would not understand. My attendants wait for me. Soon I am to be Queen and you will have to obey me,” she laughs and teases him.

“When has the baby of our house not been in complete control?” Merzan adds.

They both realize what Merzan just said, each covering their mouths to acknowledge their thoughts, “Oh my.”
